Webster’s definition of a co-worker is “a fellow worker”. The related words that are listed are “equal, fellow, peer…collaborator…companion, comrade”.
Do these words come to mind when you think about the staff members you work with? Do you view them as a peer or comrade, or do you duck your head when you go to school and try to avoid as many people as possible?
In the Beginner’s class at church a few weeks ago, the memory verse song was “Work Together as a Team” which we sang to the tune of “Jesus Loves Me” (You pretty much just repeat “work together as a team” over and over again to the tune…try it and see if it’s not stuck in your head for days…you’re welcome!).

The last few days we’ve talked about your mind and some ways to begin to change it. Next up, is looking outside of ourselves to the relationships that are inevitable in a school situation and so important in our journey to love education.
What you think about education, your students/kids, co-workers, work load etc. directly affects how you feel towards those things and in turn how you act.
Have you ever been in a place where you are wondering why you are acting so down, impatient, sad, angry etc. ? Those are the perfect moments to do a thought check.
A thankful heart IS a happy heart! Thankfulness really changes our heart and outlook on life. A few years ago I attended a small group study on Philippians 4:8. The group leader challenged us to write down three things we were thankful for at the end of every day. She wanted us to really commit to doing this for a week straight.
